Comments: The Banshee figure has perhaps the oddest (and least liked) action feature of all the X-figures released to date. The figure itself was a glorified whistle. There was a large stem projecting from the figure's back and a gaping hole in the figure's chest. Sadly, the whistle didn't even work very well.

To add insult to injury, this figure had limited articulation (no elbow joints) and could only raise and lower its arms vertically to the sides. A lack of accessories rounded out this disappointing figure.

In late 1995, the Generation X line of X-figures was released. Promotional photos for the line showed a prototype of a long-awaited Banshee II figure (as the character Banshee was the Headmaster for the Generation X students). Unfortunately, the Banshee II figure was removed from the first assortment of figures released. Fortunately, Banshee was revived for the Sophomore series of the Generation X figures and came in both blue and black costume versions.
