Action Feature: None
Comments: This figure represents the fourth incarnation of the Wolverine character in two years across three series. The Weapon X Wolverine (or Wolverine IV) was the first X-figure to have numerous intentional variations and an exclusive figure for the KayBee Toy store chain. The original general release of this figure had green cables and paint highlights. A KayBee Toys exclusive figure was also released that had red cables and paint highlights. When first released, this red cabled Weapon X was in high demand and apparently short supply. However, the supply became abundant within a few months.
A second general release of the Weapon X figure (to coincide with the KayBee exclusive) had silver cables. A fourth version of this figures is pictured on the cardbacks of many figures. This unproduced version was shown with yellow cables.
This figure was also released as a 10" figure. The larger figure was only released with green cables and accessories in contrast to its color-fickle 5" counterpart. One last note: This series began the tradition of putting stickers on the bubble portion of the packet to advertise other Marvel merchandise. For this series, it was an advertisement for X-Men home videos.
