The anim-based JIDOUSPORTS action-adventure animated series and comic strips follow the fantastic journeys of Jidou an adorable dog with an insatiable desire to compete and his three friends Jazz, Judo and Dr. Jeff as they travel the world to participate in exciting sporting events from skiing and surfing to basketball and boxing. Each episode even follows the alphabet episode A is Archery in Athens... episode B is Boxing in Bangkok... episode C is Cycling in Cairo... Fun and entertaining, JIDOUSPORTS also imparts important values including team spirit and challenging yourself to achieve.
Launched less than a year ago as a published comic strip and a line of action figurines in Hong Kong, JIDOUSPORTS quickly emerged as a highly popular toy sold through automated vending machine kiosks specially designed by the Jidou Company and CEO Alexander Wong. Jidou means automation in Japanese and self-empowerment in Chinese. Jidou, Jazz, Judo and Dr. Jeff were immediately embraced by kids throughout the market who lined up in front of the innovative vending machines to add to their JIDOUSPORTS collection.
Shortly after the property's kiosk launch, JIDOUSPORTS was featured by Milk Magazine the most popular youth magazine in Hong Kong for publication as a comic strip. Following on the combined marketing success of JIDOUSPORTS in publishing and vending machines, the Jidou Company launched the figurine line in major department stores in Hong Kong and Japan. It wasn't long before kids clamored for an animated version of JIDOUSPORTS and the company responded with the production of animated vignettes that are showcased on nearly 1,000 double-decker buses throughout Hong Kong through an agreement with Hong Kong-based Firstvision.
More recently, Jidou Company teamed with TVB Weekly (Hong Kong's TV Times) to launch Jidoucomics, which publishes the strip each week. At the same time, Jidou has joined forces with such companies as New World Mobility for a JIDOUSPORTS download marketing campaign providing logos, wallpapers, e-cards, MMS and games to the mobile market in Hong Kong, China and Malaysia. In addition JIDOUSPORTS has become the first and remains the only original sports-themed animated content on the 3rd generation Hong Kong mobile network through a licensing agreement with Hutchison Telecom.
Through the company's U.S. representatives, New York-based The Serenata
Group, JIDOUSPORTS is now poised to make its American debut.
