THE JOKER
Joker was made
by blending the best traits of Mattel’s and DCD’s Jokers. The head and arms
came from the DCD version, and the torso from Mattel’s. The trench coat was
courtesy of XMC Gambit, and Deadman was nice enough to loan out his head for
the pics.

CLASSIC BATGIRL
Batgirl, like
most of these figures, was meant to be an improvement on an existing figure,
more so than a new figure altogether. She utilizes the good parts of the DCD
Batgirl, and all the new articulation is from ML Elektra. The belt came from
a Zipline Bats, cuz let’s face it, the purse thing is lame.

NIGHTWING
Nightwing,
despite my ranting, was a pretty good figure from Mattel. The sculpted lines
in the costume were well done, and the head sculpt was pretty decent. So, my
only beef is articulation. Arms came from Namor, gloves from X2 Cyclops, legs
from Spider-sense Spidey and Punisher's boots take care of that. Also, I
added some magnets from Surfer's feet to make all the acrobatic poses much
easier.

KINGDOM COME BATMAN
Kingdom Come
Batman is, of course, the DCD Version, combined with a ML Dr. Doom figure for
his new joints. At this point, if it isn’t already obvious, I cannot praise
the Marvel Legends line enough, and I’m mostly a DC fan! The selection and
quality of characters made it so I could finally bring this custom to life;
I’ve been trying since 1997!! And of course, it needs to be said that Tim
Bruckner’s sculpt on the DCD figure is fantastic. The wings and armor pieces
are still my favorite parts on this figure.

BATMAN
Batman is made using the same parts
used on the Golden Age Batman from the JSA/Cap line. He has ML Punisher arms,
Ramos Spidey legs, variant Batman boots, and DCD Silver Age Batman head and
torso. The inside of the torso was hollowed out to preserve the waist
articulation. Everything else was pretty much the same. The belt is also
from Zipline bats. While I wasn’t going for any particular style on this
figure, he has a very Matt Wagner look to him, which I dig. Might have to do
a Grendel figure this fall.
