Avengers Unlimited Series III

Created by Stephen Andrade ([email protected]).

Recipes

Black Widow was made from the Justice Lords short-haired Wonder Woman figure, with sculpted hair and wristbands and a vinyl collar. The costume is based on Alex Ross' design (which was shown in a Wizard magazine special issue) from his Iron Man project proposal. I felt that this design would be the most striking in the Bruce Timm style. I was originally going to leave the Wonder Woman hairstyle intact, but the more I looked at it, the less I liked it. So I went with a slightly hipper look (which resembles the design for JLU member Ice, now that I look at it again).

Blue Beetle, everyone's favorite recently deceased hero, was made from an Amazo with a Flash head. The goggles and belt buckle were sculpted, and the holster came from a Talia figure.

Angel was modified from an aborted Captain Atom custom. The body and hair are from a Starman, and the face was a reshaped Superman. The wings came from a Hawkgirl, of course. I decided to go with the classic costume, and chose the navy blue and white color scheme over the red and white so that his colors wouldn't be too similar to Starfox.

Iron Man was made from an Aztek figure with legs from a Steel figure (for those groovy moon boots). The head was totally resculpted, and some sculpting was done on the torso and shoulders. The belt buckle is cut styrene. I went with iridescent colors to give a more metallic feel.
