Recipes

Circe is based on Mattel's generic female body type. Her head is a casting of the infamous Jack-in-the-Box Supergirl, with sculpted hair. The details are sculpted or cut pieces of vinyl.

Wonder Pig is a small PVC pig that was found in a generic set of animal figures. The bracelets and facial features were simply painted on.

Phantom Stranger is based on his appearance in the Justice League Unlimited comic book. The base figure is a Hasbro Ra's al Ghul. The facial details were modified with Magic Sculpt and Dremeling. The hat comes from an unknown anime figure. The medallion is cut from vinyl, and connected with fishing line.

The body of this Volcana custom was originally my Black Canary custom, made a few years ago. Black Canary got upgraded when an official version was released, so the first version went back to the parts bin. (I hate to waste parts.) Once Mattel released their Volcana, it was a simple matter to swap heads and add a few details to create a Volcana custom based on her Superman: the Animated Series appearance.

"This Little Piggy" is one of my favorite episodes, and the idea of Circe as a lounge singer cracks me up! I just had to make a custom of her in the red dress! The head and hair is a casting of my standard Circe custom. The dress is sculpted from Super Sculpey and Magic Sculpt.

Stargirl is based on a Jack-in-the-Box Batgirl figure. Both the body and head were used. Magic Sculpt was used to fill in the base figure's gaps, and to add details such as the gloves and boots. The neck was extended just a tiny bit. The top portion of her hair is taken from an animated Witchblade figure, while the rest is sculpted. The Star Rod's base is taken from Mattel's Starman figure accessory, while the head of the rod is sculpted. (It's not 100% accurate, but it will do for now.) [

Lois is based on the "Happy Worker" Supermom figure. Her head is a casting of DC Direct's recent Power Girl figure.

Superlad is a repaint of the McGuinness style Superman figure. The only physical change was the removal of the spit curl. He's intended to accompany the Supermanwoman and Batwoman figures, not yet released.

Zatanna was inspired by j3h's version. The original DCD Direct version featured an unsightly head. A tasteful head swap improves the figure tremendously. In my case, I used a Dark Angel figure's head, simply because it was in the parts box. (I prefer Zatanna with straight hair, but this will do for now.) The new neck was made from Kneadatite. The rest is paint.
