They're not ALL New Gods, technically, but these are the ones from the Super Powers line of figures that I grew up with. I'd always wanted a Darkseid with some serious bulk and heft -- with a face that looked like it did in the Super Powers cartoon. I wanted to make Desaad seem more sinister than his SP incarnation, and Kalibak more fearful and savage. Mantis was a real Frankenstein of an effort that really didn't come together for me until the paint was drying. I used the JLU-look for Orion more than his SP version, as that one was just... weird. I mean, he had a hat made of Legos. Tyr was a 24-hour custom, as I was able to start and finish this guy in a day. Amazing how last-minute things can really come together for you... it's the ones you plan and plan and plan that take forever.
