Corus Entertainment's Nelvana

CORUS ENTERTAINMENT'S NELVANA MOVES INTO HIGH GEAR FOR LICENSING SHOW 2003.

(Toronto, Canada and New York, NY - June 10, 2003) - On the heels of recent record-setting quarterly revenue, Nelvana Limited's Merchandise and Licensing group brings some of the world's hottest brands to international customers at Licensing Show 2003.

Nelvana's consumer products strategy continues to be a driving force behind the animation company's new vision and revitalization. With a solid list of recently signed licensing deals (see attached summary), key Nelvana properties including Beyblade, Babar, Fairly Odd Parents, Franklin, George Shrinks and The Berenstain Bears will be developed across multiple platforms including merchandise, music, interactive, sponsorship, promotion and more, reflecting a truly consumer-focused brand strategy.

"The television marketplace has changed dramatically over the past few years and we are putting an increased emphasis on all categories of consumer products to drive Nelvana's business in the future," said Doug Murphy, Executive Vice President of Business Development for Nelvana. "We have the talent, resources and commitment to develop integrated licensing programs that will support long-term sustainability of our properties and we're looking to partner with the best licensees in the business to share that success."

Highlights of the Company's recent North American licensing deals include: Beyblade home video and DVD from Pioneer; T-shirts for Target and Kids "R" Us from JEM; sleepwear from Wormser; Babar infant layette apparel from Children's Apparel Network and bedding from Jay Franco, as well as Babar plush and puppets from Crocodile Creek; Franklin backpacks from Eye Spy and puzzles from Warren Industries; and Fisher-Price PowerTouch and View-Master releases for Franklin and The Berenstain Bears.

George Shrinks is looking to grow with new licenses in the U.S. for CD ROMs from Brighter Child, PowerTouch releases from Fisher-Price, games and puzzles from Pressman, new book titles from HarperCollins and video and DVD releases from Warner Bros. Home Video.

On the international scene, Nelvana recently acquired exclusive licensing rights for the growing tween hit Fairly Odd Parents in all territories outside North America. Franklin continues to be a top-selling property in France and a new pan-European deal from GameBoy promises to extend the brand.

Nelvana is setting its sights on a successful re-launch of one of world's oldest and most enduring characters, Babar. With a television series currently distributed in over 150 countries and more than 100 licensees worldwide, the North American launch of a new infant program in 2004 will ensure that the next generation of children will share their parents' and grandparents' love of this literary classic. Created by Jean de Brunhoff in 1931, Babar continues to flourish with the introduction of many popular new titles worldwide, including three new releases by Abrams Publishing in the U.S. for fall '03.

Beyblade, the world's top-selling toy, promises to stay on top in 2004 with a worldwide licensing program, 100 new licensees and the introduction of Hasbro's expanded collection of spinning tops, launchers, and stadiums that kids everywhere are clamouring for. Season two of the top-rated animated television series launches with 51 all-new episodes scheduled for fall '03. Supporting the second season launch will be an all-new line of magnetic and remote control tops from Hasbro that will add another layer of skill and strategy to this extreme sports phenomenon. The massive global promotions currently underway with Burger King, Frito Lay and Kellogg's, plus new licensing deals in personal gaming, music, home video and apparel, and the expansion of the Beyblade Battle Association Tournaments around the world, provide the momentum to keep Beyblade spinning at the top of the global market.

"Our wide-ranging portfolio of properties represents a solid foundation for Nelvana's growth," added Sid Kaufman, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Licensing and Merchandising for Nelvana. "We are reaching kids of every age and our proven ability to work with partners in developing unique promotions and exceptional product lines with real consumer appeal gives Nelvana an advantage in the competitive world of merchandise and licensing."

Headed up by Doug Murphy, whose background includes over a decade of top positions at Disney Consumer Products, Nelvana's consumer products management team has experience and credibility to develop products and programs with lasting consumer appeal.

Led by Executive Vice President of Worldwide Licensing and Merchandising, Sid Kaufman, the Nelvana veteran who has overseen the phenomenal international growth and development of Beyblade outside of Japan and Tracy Ewing, Vice President of Marketing, who brings a solid track record in branded consumer products with Sara Lee Corporation and Ralph Lauren Intimates, the team has strong licensing representation serving key territories worldwide.
