Medicom is giving fans of the original Planet of the Apes a chance to revisit that popular dystopian future with four new Planet of the Apes Kubrick Sets, and they're available through Diamond Comic Distributors.

Based on popular American and Japanese properties, Kubricks - building block figures that stand approximately 2 �"-tall - have proven themselves big sellers in both the specialty market and on the Internet. Monkey Mania is expected to hit an all-time high with the July 27, 2001, release of filmmaker Tim Burton's (Batman) re-imagining of the classic film, and these all-new sets should provide specialty retailers with a perfect way to profit from consumers' lucrative fascination with import toys.

Featuring characters from the original film (and TV!) series, Set A includes Cornelius, Zira, Dr. Zaius, and the Lawgiver Statue.

Set B contains General Ursus, two Soldier Apes, and a Horse.

Set C features Taylor, Nova, a Horse, and the Statue of Liberty.

Set D comes with General Urko, Soldier Ape, Horse, and a Jail Cart. All four sets are scheduled to ship by December 30, 2001.
