April 2008 - Several readers on the ToyBuzz forum recently noticed a retail price increase for single-carded GI Joe action figures. This week online retailer Big Bad Toy Store posted pre-orders for Wave 9 and in the item description mentioned that Hasbro had raised the wholesale prices (those are the prices that the stores pay to the supplier) of the single Joes by 25%.
This certainly isn't a good thing for collectors, but please keep in mind that the price increase is a Hasbro thing and was not up to the retailers to decide. (Direct your complaints accordingly... the retailers are in the same boat you are.)
