April 2008 Mattel Q&A (Round 2)

April 2008 - Every couple of weeks, Mattel will answer three questions per web site about their various product lines. Here are the answers for the past few questions:

1. The original Aquaman figure pictures had correct coloring. Now the figure has a gold collar which was supposed to be with the chase. Are there plans to remove the gold collar and paint it orange like the prototype?

Answer: The release actually is correct. Check the comics!

2. When is the DC Superfriends Hawkman/Cyborg asst expected to hit at retail, please?

Answer: It should be just starting to hit shelves in June.

3. Masters of the Universe has a very passionate fan base. Does this help or hinder a line from being successful?

Answer: A new MOTU line would be completely dependent on the fan base as there are no new animated series in the works and the movie is still a few years off. The huge MOTU fan base and the passion these fans bring is what is keeping MOTU going. We will be making an announcement about new MOTU toys at NYCC on Saturday April 19th at 2:00 in our MOTU fan panel.

This panel will include a screening of episode 35 of the 2002 series "The Power of Grayskull" as well as a Q & A with Mattel designers and the Four Horsemen.

Be sure to check out the previous Q&As as well.
