Palisades Unveils Resident Evil Line
|
Palisades Marketing has updated RTM on the progress of their upcoming action figure line based on the popular Capcom video game series, Resident Evil. The sculpts for the first series, which consists of Nemesis, Nosferatu, Soldier Zombie and Leon (who bumped Jill Valentine from the first assortment), have been approved and are getting prepped to head overseas to the factory. Palisades has been working hard to make sure this new toyline is worthy of the Resident Evil name, to the point that they pushed back the original release date slightly to ensure that the sculpts were really phenomenal. As you can see from the pictures here, they will be worth the wait. | | Nemesis | Leon Kennedy | | | Nosferatu | Soldier Zombie | - Nemesis will tower at approximately 8.5" tall, and will have between 16-20 points of articulation, a soft PVC jacket and a bazooka.
- Leon stands about 6.5", and will have 14-16 points of articulation and include his VP90 handgun, modified VP90, shotgun, sub-machine gun and magnum.
- Nosferatu is about 6.75", and will have bendable tentacles, soft PVC skirt, real chains and 10-12 points of articulation.
- Soldier Zombie stands 6.5" and will have holstered weapon, 16 points of articulation and comes with the Zombie Dog as an accessory.
Several variant figures are planned, as well, including a variant "bandaged" Leon, from late in the game when he is patched up by Ada Wong, as well as a variant Nemesis with alternate "enraged" head and alternate hand with bendy tentacle (the one he uses to impale Brad Vickers in his first appearance in Resident Evil 3). A camo-pattern variant is planned for Soldier Zombie. Resident Evil Series 2 will debut at Toy Fair 2001, with the line-up scheduled to be: Claire Redfield from Code:Veronica, Zombie Cop with Licker from Resident Evil 2, Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 and Alexia I and II (transforming action) from Code: Veronica. Palisades plans to follow up with Series 2 about three months or so after the release of the first series, with a total of three assortments being planned for release in 2001. The first series was originally planned to feature a Jill Valentine figure, but since Palisades has a vinyl statue of Jill shipping in January they figured they'd save the Jill figure for a later assortment and put Leon Kennedy into the first series. Fear not, Jill fans, she is definitely coming in either Series 2 or 3. For more detailed pictures of each figure, and their accessories, just click on the link below!
