Kubrick's "Special Force" Series One Has Been Infiltrated
|
When we heard that MediCom Toys made a Kubrick "Special Force" line, we knew we had to get them. Each figure comes in a small red box, so you have no idea which character you're getting when you buy them. You just hope that your luck helps you find the Terrorist or the "impossible to find" blue SAS variant. There are five standard figures, The SAS (A), SAS (B), FBI (A), FBI (B), and ever-popular Terrorist. Our team descended on our local specialty store and tried to get the entire set without buying out the store. We failed, lets just say we have the entire set. Using a series of sophisticated box-shaking techniques, combined with simple "I've-just-spent-$30-so-the-next-one-has-to-be-a-terrorist" logic, we were able to round out the set. Two full sets actually. Well that's not true... I'm still without a terrorist. Next to the Terrorist, the coolest figure has to be the SAS (A) with removeable helmet. He comes with a pistol, an automatic hand gun, and a ladder that can be interlocked with other SAS (A) ladders. In our search, one of our team members purchased the Impossible To Find SAS Blue. This cool variant features a dark blue body and mask, and has additional detail on his legs and arms. He is pretty cool, but he surfaced much earlier than the Terrorist. The FBI (A) comes with a flak jacket, Sabatoge-style toupe, pistol, holster, and shot gun. He and the other FBI (B) seem pretty common. We now have a small army of FBI agents to help with the search and seizure of the Terrorist. The much mentioned Terrorist comes with a devilish smirk, a "cloth" trench coat and all the weapons. He is very slippery as he aluded our search many many times. The box reveals the assortment rate of the different figures in a standard 24 figure case. There are 7 SAS (A)s, 6 SAS (B)s, 5 FBI (A)s, and 4 FBI (B)s. There are reportedly only 2 Terrorists per case, and only 1 SAS (A) Blue Variant per 96. One of our operatives divulged that the Terrorist had a distinctly different sound when his box was shaked. The theory is that a Terrorist has more wiggle room, so you can comparativley single him out. We're just anxiously awaiting Series 2 which features the police versus Gang Members.
