New Lord of the Rings Statues from Sideshow / WETA

We've got pictures of the new Lord of the Rings offerings from Sideshow Toy and WETA Here is the info and pictures from their release. Sideshow Inc. of Westlake Village, CA has partnered with Weta Workshop of New Zealand to develop multiple lines of polystone collectibles based on the upcoming film trilogy, Lord of the Rings. Weta Workshop is the special effects company that created the effects for all three LOTR films. The Sideshow / WETA collaboration will be responsible for the development and marketing of five lines of polystone collectibles: statues, busts, miniature shields and weapons, miniature helmets and wall plaques. The 1:16 scale statues are hand cast in heavy weight polystone and hand painted. The display base has been etched with the map of Middle Earth and also include the Lord of the Rings logo, the character's name and sculptor's signature. These are authentic replications of the film's central characters and each figure has been endorsed by the actor who portrayed the character on film.

Frodo Baggins "On the advice of wizard Gandalf, young hobbit Frodo Baggins of the Shire, was to set out on a perilous quest. Frodo must trust in his eight fellowship companions to protect himself and the mysterious ring from the forces of darkness that pursue him, while only the strength of his own heart could save him from the corrupt lure of the ring itself." 9" high, $100
Lurtz "Bred in the pits of Orthanc by the wizard Samuran, Lurtz was among the first of a new race of orcs to attack the fellowship. Like all Uruk-hai, Lurtz was tall, upright, strong and fearless, living to fight and kill.
