Aaron Carter Gets Made in Plastic

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Michael Jackson, New Kids on the Block, Spice Girls and Britney Spears -- all are pop legends that have been immortalized with their own action figures and fashion dolls. Now, Aaron Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boy's Nick Carter, joins this exclusive group of superstars with the debut of his own action figures from Play Along Toys, in conjunction with the August 7 release of Aaron's new CD Oh Aaron!
The launch of Aaron's CD and action figure drew hundreds of teary-eyed, screaming, young fans, who lined up for hours at K-Mart's New York City store for the opportunity to pick up Aaron's new CD and collector dolls, catch a glimpse of pop's newest superstar and maybe even score an autograph.
The Aaron Carter figures come dressed in outfits that are replicas of those he actually wears on his national summer music tour, which continues through August. The Aaron Carter figures retail for $14.99 and can be found in all major chain stores including Wal-Mart, Kmart, Kay Bee and Toys R Us.
Aaron Carter, a top recording artist for Jive Records also home to Backstreet Boys, N'Sync and Britney Spears, has sold over two million copies of his album "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and recently starred in the Broadway production of Seussical. He is currently touring the United States and will be involved heavily in the promotion of Paramount/Nickelodeon's upcoming film, Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, as well as contributing all-new music to the film's soundtrack.
Signatures Network, the exclusive licensing agency for Aaron Carter, has worked closely with Play Along on a series of projects including Britney Spears and LFO. Matt Hautau, senior director of licensing and marketing for Signatures Network said, "We are extremely excited to be working with Play Along on the launch of Aaron Carter's action figure. Play Along's success with the Britney Spears doll line illustrates their aggressive yet professional approach towards this unique product category -- Aaron Carter is in great hands."
"I see all the same signs with Aaron that I have seen in the past with Britney and Spice Girls. He has the talent, personality and the extra something special that is sure to make him a superstar," said Jay Foreman, Play Along President and the man responsible for both the Britney and Spice Girls doll programs. With all the pundits predicting the demise of Pop music, it seems that legions of young fans are standing in their way and standing in line for Pop's next wave -- Aaron Carter.
