December 2009 - Every couple of weeks, Hasbro will answer three questions per web site about their Star Wars products. Here are the questions and answers for the latest round:
1. Hasbro previously said that the Attack of the Clones wave was rather limited. Well, the Phantom Menace wave so far seems to be even more limited. Toys R Us, Khol's, Meijer, and KMart didn't stock it at all. It showed up only a few times at Target stores over just two or three weeks and only seems to have hit Walmart stores once or twice over just one week. Even Hasbrotoyshop.com only restocked it once. Why? Will it ship again?
Answer: We can confirm that the EpI wave was indeed produced in greater quantities than the EpII wave, but some quantity was held for other merchandising so not all of it has found its way to retail yet. Also, given the nature of the figure build-up for the holiday crush, we tend to ship a lot of figures to retail and Legacy has a lot of waves; what retailers move out of their distribution centers (DCs) first may not be the first product in.
2. We have had many and varied versions of the Clone Pilot but will we ever get the Actual V-Wing Pilot (full face-mask) that was in ROTS? I know I could kit-bash one but I want to pay you for an "official" version.
Answer: We did do a Clone V-wing pilot in the Evolutions "Imperial Pilots Legacy" set (87650 / 87874). There is actually no official pilot from the movie as they were never seen, but we used a closed helmet concept design based on an official LFL concept sketch to develop our figure. We just double checked LFL's data base and there is no new info on the V-Wing pilot. If you have information that we or LFL do not have in their database, we'd love to see it.
3. As 2010 is the 30 Anniversary, can we expect to see at least one TESB-related item in each of the toy line categories: figure, battle pack, beast, vehicle?
Answer: There will be an Ep V themed item in three of the four categories you mentioned.
