June 2010 - Every couple of weeks, Hasbro will answer two questions per web site about their Star Wars products. Here are the questions and answers for the latest round:
1) We've gotten white TIE fighters with little wings. We've gotten blue TIE fighters with little wings. We've gotten little winged TIE fighters with electronics. We've gotten little winged TIE figters with no electronics. We've gotten blue big winged TIE fighters. We've gotten grey big winged TIE fighters. We've gotten white big winged TIE fighters. We've gotten white big winged TIE fighters with (finally) movie accurate pilot seats. We've even gotten Rebel TIE fighters. We've gotten a grey Darth Vader TIE fighter. We've gotten a blue Darth Vader's TIE fighter. We've even gotten Darth Vader the Jedi's Jedi fighter. But we've never ever got a movie accurate white Darth Vader's TIE fighter. Isn't it about time?
Answer: We spoke with Lucasfilm about this one some number of years back, and determined that this is not an accurate color for Vader's Advanced TIE. Even though in some shots it may *look* white, it's actually gray through all of the movies.
2) 2010 is the year of Empire's 30th anniversary and there are some great toys coming out. But you know who isn't represented? The lowly Imperial Commander. Sure, we just had a battlepack with one, but a) he's from Jedi and b) us Imperial officer fans deserve a full-articulated figure. Don't ignore the little guy, are we finally going to see a black-outfitted fully-articulated Imperial officer to strike back?
Answer: We don't have any plans for a generic black-tuniced Imperial Commander (or a named one) in the lineup in the near future. It's one we'd like to get to further down the road, though, as it's one of those key Kenner updates that would be a sweet addition to the Vintage line.
