CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 23 -- Need to do some holiday shopping? Long to listen to some seasonal carols? Forget the mall. Head out to LEGOLAND� California instead.

Just in the (Saint) Nick of time, this year's holiday festivities include Shopping Nights beginning Nov. 26 and running until Dec. 23 for anyone searching for a special gift for the LEGO� toy lover on their list. The theme park's large retail shops will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., admission to shop and parking are free. In addition, seasonal refreshments will be for sale and several Park attractions will remain open during the special shopping hours.

Guests receive with every purchase of $250 or more, one child's Block Party annual pass to enjoy the world-class theme park all year long. Passes and tickets to the Park also will be available for purchase. Current Year Pass holders will receive 20 percent off all LEGO and LEGOLAND merchandise during the holiday shopping nights.

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer, on Vixen! The holiday spirit is alive with a nip in the air and snow! Special holiday shows, Santa and nightly fireworks round out a Holiday Block Party celebration from Dec. 15 through Jan. 1, 2002 at LEGOLAND California. The Park has decked the halls with a 45-foot LEGO� decorated Noble fir tree, which greets guests at the Park's entrance, Santa, Mrs. Claus and much more.

After opening the Park each morning at 10 a.m., Santa Claus will hear the holiday wishes of young guests from Nov. 22 through Dec. 24. Park hours through the end of the year are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends except for the following days:

-- Dec. 15 - Dec. 23: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

-- Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

-- Dec. 26 - Dec. 30: 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.

-- Dec. 31 - Jan. 6: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
