Climb@Tron Vertibug is a "Coverbug"

ORLANDO, Fla., Nov. 1 -- Action Products International Inc. (Nasdaq: APII), a leading educational toy company, announces the solo appearance of its popular window-climbing robot, Climb@Tron(TM) Vertibug, on the cover of the Hammacher Schlemmer Gift 2001 Catalog, distributed to millions of homes domestically and internationally.

Also featured in "The Unexpected" section of the Hammacher Schlemmer website, www.hammacher.com and listed under "Window Walking Robotic Bugs,", both electronic insect Vertibug and robotic reptile Walligator are visibly featured as prime holiday season gifts.

Featuring a powerful suction cup vacuum system, Climb@Tron robots easily scale smooth walls, windows, and furniture, while auto-reverse action keeps them climbing even after bumping into barriers. Each robot includes a unique action feature, such as Walligator's scanning eyes and Vertibug's bobbing antennae.

Sabrina Balthazar, New Products Specialist at Hammacher Schlemmer commented, "The Climb@Tron robots are very amusing, entertaining critters that seem to defy gravity. Over the past 153 years, Hammacher Schlemmer has learned a thing or two about what kids and adults like to find under the Christmas tree, and these toys definitely belong there."

Ron Kaplan, CEO and Chairman of Action Products added, "We are thrilled that Hammacher Schlemmer has selected Climb@Tron Vertibug as the sole product on the cover of their 2001 Gift Catalog. Hammacher Schlemmer has a well-known history of offering unique and innovative products that children and adults love, and it is Action Products' goal to continue producing toys like Climb@Tron that fall into that category."
