August 2011 - Every couple of weeks, Hasbro will answer two questions per web site about their Star Wars products. Here are the questions and answers for the June round, delayed a bit while the answers got straightened out from what was originally sent back to us:
1) New figures have been nearly impossible to find this entire year. Most stores that I visit have the same vintage card figures that have been lingering since at least Christmas. Internet postings suggest that it's pretty much the same across the country. Now even Legends figures are missing from the pegs at Walmart. Where are the figures this year?
Answer: New figures are on the way! New waves of Clone Wars and Vintage figures will be hitting stores throughout the rest of the year.
2) 2011 has been an extremely difficult year for Clone Wars collectors. Virtually every new figure released in late 2010 and the first third of 2011 has been impossible to find at retail, whereas every store has entire shelves of Anakin, Captain Rex, Clone Troopers, and Commander Cody. The casepacks solicited for early summer and fall show even more of these over-abundant characters coming in nearly every case. Are there plans for quantities of characters that there are an overabundance of to be reduced in future casepacks, and perhaps reintegrate in-demand figures that were very sparsely produced like Commander Bly, Aayla Secura, Undead Geonosians, Clone Trooper Draa, older Ahsoka and Darth Sidious into the mix?
Answer: Moving forward you can expect Clone Wars waves to continue to include primarily the "greatest hits" type of characters that appear in multiple episodes and story arcs. But of course we will continue to sprinkle the line with additional popular figures such as Aayla Secura in 2012.
