November 2011 Hasbro GI Joe Q&A

November 2011 - Every other month, Hasbro will answer a few questions about their GI Joe products. Below are the questions and answers for this month.

1) There are unmade/unscheduled members of the Renegades cast such as Major Bludd. Is the Renegades sub-line done for good when the 2012 movie toys take over, or will Hasbro find ways to fill in the gaps of the Renegades cast?

Answer: The plan for 2012 is to focus on movie, but you never know!

2) On the tour of the Hasbro offices during the 2010 Joe Con the attendees were shown an updated Zarana sculpt that differed from the classic style Hasbro eventually made into this year's SDCC exclusive. Is that sculpt still coming out down the line from Hasbro, and if not how about letting the Joe Club put it out?

(Hasbro accepts three GI Joe questions for each round, with the promise to answer at least two of them. This one was not answered.)

3) What was your favorite project to work on for release in 2011?

Answer: These questions are always tough for us. Obviously, we love everything. :-) But one of the favorite projects for the design team to work on was the Zombie Viper. It was fun to think about the theories and story for this scary new figure, to think about the "Semi-Plausible G.I. Joe Science" that it might take to get something like this character "walking around" in the world. Besides that, it was just very, very fun to draw up and design. We have big Romero fans on the team and love "zombie" comic books, so of course we got a big kick out of this figure! The sculpting and painting teams had a great time working on this figure as well - and the enthusiasm shows in the amazing detail!
