Los Angeles (November 26, 2001) - A group of friends who are toy consultants in the Los Angeles area have teamed together, with the cooperation of the New York City Fire Department, to donate their talents to design, manufacture and sell a collectible commemorative F.D.N.Y. Fire Fighter Action Figure in which 100% of the profits from the sales will go to the F.D.N.Y. Fire Safety Education Fund.

"Because we are fortunate enough to work in this special industry and have such unique talents and capabilities to design and manufacture this special action figure, we felt that it was our responsibility to use our talents for such a worthwhile cause" is the motivation that Bryan Ono, the team leader, has given for initiating this project. "The combined talents of our team encompass the entire spectrum of toy production including product design and development, sculpting, clothing design, graphic design, engineering and manufacturing. I am very proud of our team who was able to take this action figure from concept to production in just 10 weeks. This was accomplished through countless hours and dedication of the team." he also added.

Tom Von Essen, the New York City Fire Commissioner, has requested that the profits be donated to the F.D.N.Y. Fire Safety Education Fund. Mr. Von Essen has chosen this fund because it will not only benefit the victims of September 11th, but all Americans.

The action figure is 8" tall and is fully poseable with 24 points of articulation. The Fire Fighter comes with an authentic uniform which includes a T-Shirt, pants, jacket, helmet, boots and even socks. Also included is a United States flag and a special "Spirit of Unity" pin. The Fire Fighter also wears a miniature version of the Unity pin on his jacket, which symbolizes the "unity" of the Fire Fighters and all Americans. Since this project is officially licensed by the New York City Fire Department, this Fire Fighter proudly wears the F.D.N.Y. logo on his uniform.
