LOS ANGELES, Dec. 13 -- The Electronic Stretch Screamers -- a line of gruesome ghouls by Manley Toy Quest are flying off the shelves this season. The company today announced that retailers are completely sold out.
Sales of the Stretch Screamers began to escalate prior to Halloween and have steadily increased since then. Stretch Screamers proved to be the company's biggest selling toy this Christmas. A few of the Stretch characters are currently selling on eBay for over twice the retail price.
Modeled after a classic stretch toy, Screamers are fully stretchable monster action figures that emit ghoulish electronic screaming sound FX. Each of the four characters feature a surprise pop-out that is sure to shock anyone!
"The exceptional sales of the Screamers have exceeded our expectations," said Brian Dubinsky, President of Manley Toy Quest. "We have expanded the Stretch Screamer line with several new characters and look forward to the response at Toy Fair 2002."
