Marvel HeroClix Starter & Booster Sets
|
As announced earlier this year, WizKids, the company that brought you MageKnight, will be releasing similar games based on comic book characters from the Marvel and DC Universes. While the DC sets are due out in September, Marvel fans won't have to wait as long - the Marvel HeroClix (Infinity Challenge) sets are due out in May!
The starter sets will have eight character pieces in them (as well as the playmat and other items required for play) and will retail for about $19.95 USD. The booster packs will have four character pieces in them and will retail for around $6.95 USD. There will be over 150 characters in all, randomly packed in the starter sets and booster packs.
Just as with the MageKnight sets, there will be deluxe pieces, too. To start off with, the Marvel HeroClix will have a "to scale" Sentinel - this piece will tower over the regular HeroClix pieces and will come with swappable hands, so that the Sentinels can carry the character pieces around if they have captured any. Expect to see the Sentinels packed two to a pack and retail for around $20 USD.
