More WWE Games Unveiled at E3

LOS ANGELES-- May 22, 2002 -- THQ Inc. and JAKKS Pacific Inc. today announced their upcoming World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) product line at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. This year's World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) line will feature several highly anticipated titles that include sequels to established franchises such as:

"WWE(TM) SmackDown!(TM) Shut Your Mouth" for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system, "WWE(TM) Raw(TM) 2" (working title) for the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft, "WWE(TM) Raw(TM)" for the PC, "WWE(TM) WrestleMania® X8" for GameCube(TM) and "WWE(TM) Road to WrestleMania® X8" for Game Boy® Advance. In addition to these titles, a new game that extends the World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) license into the action genre was also announced: "WWE(TM) Crush Hour(TM)." World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) licensed video games have sold more than $270 million in the U.S. since 1999.

Two of the top World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) Superstars, Rob Van Dam(TM) and Stacy Keibler(TM), will be appearing at E3 to sign autographs in THQ's booth, #4001 located in Petree Hall. Rob Van Dam(TM) is scheduled to sign autographs Wednesday, May 22, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.; Stacy Keibler(TM) will appear on Thursday, May 23, between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

"We're delighted to be unveiling the next installments in our proven WWE(TM) franchises, offering game experiences that are unique to each system. We are also breaking new ground with the introduction of 'WWE(TM) Crush Hour(TM),' a new vehicle-based combat game that captures the personalities of the WWE(TM) talent," said Brian Farrell, president and CEO, THQ. "We are very confident in the strides we've taken to develop the most authentic and entertaining WWE(TM) video game experiences, and we are eager to show them off at this year's show."

"With at least one new title for each of the platforms due out this year, we expect strong sales and full exposure for the franchise -- no matter which platform gamers are using."

THQ's WWE(TM) Lineup:

"WWE(TM) WrestleMania® X8": No other event in the history of wrestling has seen more legendary match-ups and classic championship battles that have forever changed the face of wrestling. Now players will relive the rich history surrounding WrestleMania® and compete for championship glory as they choose from more than 35 Superstars in a host of venues and match types including death-defying TLC bouts or legendary Hell in a Cell match-ups. "WWE(TM) WrestleMania® X8" is scheduled to ship June 2002 for GameCube.

"WWE(TM) SmackDown!(TM) Shut Your Mouth": The next installment in the top-selling PlayStation 2 franchise is back this fall with an updated roster, revamped control system, in-depth Create-A-Wrestler, multiple venues and a more robust season mode. Exclusive to the PlayStation 2, "WWE(TM) SmackDown!(TM) Shut Your Mouth" is scheduled to be available holiday 2002.

"WWE(TM) Raw® 2" (working title): Prepare for stunning graphics and insane action as "WWE(TM) Raw®" returns to Xbox in the first half of 2003 with more Superstars, improved gameplay, more matches and a season mode that makes "WWE(TM) Raw® 2" the definitive video gaming experience for Xbox.

"WWE(TM) Crush Hour(TM)": All the excitement of WWE(TM) transported behind the wheel of a screaming semi! That's what "WWE(TM) Crush Hour(TM)" is all about. Choose from more than 20 personalized Superstar vehicles including exotic sports cars and 4x4's as players annihilate opponents with multiple weapons customized for each vehicle. "WWE(TM) Crush Hour(TM)" is scheduled for release the first half of 2003 for PlayStation 2 GameCube and Xbox.

"WWE(TM) Road to WrestleMania® X8": In "WWE(TM) Road to WrestleMania® X8," players can choose from 16 Superstars including Hollywood Hulk Hogan®, Rob Van Dam(TM) and Booker T(TM). As players compete through the WWE(TM) ranks they will be able to develop their Superstar's abilities and change them according to each individual's fighting style in their quest for the WWE(TM) Undisputed Championship. "WWE(TM) Road to WrestleMania® X8" for the Game Boy Advance is scheduled for release holiday 2002.

"WWE(TM) Raw®" PC: "WWE(TM) Raw®" makes its debut on the PC with all the bedlam that is World Wrestling Entertainment(TM). It's no-holds-barred World Wrestling Entertainment(TM) action, looking better than ever on the PC for holiday 2002.
