May 22, 2002 - Playthings Magazine is reporting that the United States Playing Card Company has signed a licensing deal with Hasbro to create sets of playing cards featuring Hasbro brands. The cards would ship to stores in September 2002.
In addition to such classics as Candy Land and Mr. Potato Head, there are also plans to produce playing cards of the Transformers and GI Joe.
The Transformers cards will come in a case which has a lenticular image of a Transformers action figure.
The GI Joe cards will come in a collectible tin and feature images of the "GI Joe versus Cobra" action figures.
