Battle of the Planets Action Figures
|
Princess
A Diamond Select release - the 80s are back in a big way, and Diamond Select Toys is proud to bring G-Force back to the generation that grew up with the exploits of Mark, Princess, and Keyop.
Originally released in Japan as Gatchaman, then repackaged and brought over to the states as Battle of the Planets, this is the one that started the Anime craze in America. The great animation and multidimensional characters struck a chord with young viewers that has stayed with them for over 20 years. In the middle of a major renaissance featuring comics, apparel, and DVDs, it's like the summer of 1978 all over again. What was missing from those summers long since past? Toys, that's what!
Mark
These great characters were never released as action figures in the US! Now, DST, along with the loving care of figure sculptor Gabriel Marquez and vehicles sculptor SOTA, has righted that wrong.
These figures are all articulated and in seven-inch scale and feature the characters' signature weapons as well as mini-replica vehicles. Great care has gone into accurately replicating the images from screen to your toy shelf, from the colored visors to the realistic capes and stylized blister card packaging.
Keyop
The amazing youth that formed G-Force didn't just run around in those Science Ninja outfits all day; they had normal lives and civilian identities. One of the things that made Battle of the Planets such a hit with kids was the character development; each member of G-Force had his own personality and motivations.
The most unique on the team was Keyop. Born in a lab, and the youngest member of the team, Keyop would often communicate in chirps and clicks.
Civilian Keyop
This Previews-exclusive figure captures Keyop in his G-Force outfit but with a new "civilian" head, as well as the dune buggy he drives when he's not doing recon for the team or kicking Spectra's butts. The figure was sculpted by Gabriel Marquez and features all the detail you have come to expect from DST; the buggy was recreated exactly by the crew at SOTA.
Guranteed to Ship in August 2002, each Battle of the Planets action figure has a suggested retail price of $10.99 USD.
