Iced Up: Scooby Doo & Powerpuff Girls

OAKLAND, Calif., June 12 -- Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Pictures' The Powerpuff Girls and Scooby-Doo are expected to be two of the summer's hottest movies, and now they have something else in common. They will be immortalized in ice cream! Beginning today, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream is scooping up three Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. inspired flavors -- Powerpuff Mint Chip Ice Cream, Peanut Butter Bones Ice Cream and Scooby-Doo Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream.

The colorful trio of Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup has teamed up in Powerpuff Mint Chip Ice Cream. This cool flavor wasn't developed in Professor Utonium's lab; instead, Dreyer's pooled the resources of its top research and development scientists who were able to mutate and shape chocolate to create chocolaty-shaped Powerpuff Girls that float through creamy mint ice cream with swirls of thick fudge.

Zoinks! Dreyer's Scooby-Doo flavors feature a doggone assortment of cool ingredients. Peanut Butter Bones Ice Cream combines vanilla and chocolate ice cream with peanut butter cookie dough shaped bones and chocolaty-coated peanut butter cookie pieces. Scooby-Doo Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream is an irresistible mix of caramel light ice cream with chocolaty cookie dough shaped bones and chocolaty chips. These two flavors are sure to make Scooby fans shake and shiver, and that's a fact!

Dreyer's also serves up fun with "Dig In to Win," an innovative game inside all three cartons. Ice cream fans simply scoop their way to the bottom of each carton to see if they have won. Five (5) Grand Prize winners will get a special behind-the-scenes tour of Warner Bros. Studios and 1,000 First Prize winners will receive a groovy Scooby-Doo backpack. Kids can log onto http://www.Conefactory.com for more ice cream fun and games.

Dreyer's sweet ice cream line-up will be available in freezer aisles nationwide from mid-May through the end of August 2002 at a suggested retail price of $5.59. To find out where these new flavors have recently been delivered in your neighborhood, log on to Dreyer's unique Flavor Finder at http://www.Dreyers.com. But hurry, because these flavors will disappear as quickly as a small bag of popcorn at the movie theater.

"We are delighted to offer ice cream fans our Scooby-Doo flavors for the third year," said Suzanne Saltzman, Associate Marketing Manager with Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream. "The upcoming movie debut provides a perfect tie-in with our 'top dog' flavors. And we were thrilled to create a great new ice cream to tie in with 'The Powerpuff Girls Movie' by using a Dreyer's favorite, mint chip, and giving it a unique twist by adding chocolaty shaped Powerpuff Girls."

Winner of an Emmy award for art direction and two-time Emmy nominee for Outstanding Animated Series, The Powerpuff Girls is an original half-hour series that follows the adventures of three crayon-carrying crimefighters -- Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup -- sisters who are united in their mission to save the world ... before bedtime.

Scooby-Doo opens nationwide on June 14, and The Powerpuff Girls Movie opens nationwide on July 3. For the latest Powerpuff Girls and Scooby-Doo movie news, be sure to visit http://www.cartoonnetwork.com or http://www.warnerbrothers.com.
