Spy Kids 2 Goes Colorific

BELLWOOD, Ill., June 11 -- Two kids with courage and, above all, attitude took the screen by storm in 2001 with the debut of the movie, Spy Kids. Colorific, the innovative children's coloring line from Sanford, today announced it is partnering with Dimension Films for its sequel to last year's $100 million blockbuster hit. Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams starring Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alexa Vega, Daryl Sabara; directed by Robert Rodriguez, is due in theaters on August 7.

Colorific is offering kids nationwide the chance to get the gear that their favorite pint-sized secret agents would love. Starting now, Colorific is providing kids a shot at more than 25,000 prizes in a national instant win program. Prizes include Nintendo(R) Game Boy Advance systems with the Spy Kids Game, Colorific products, Timex(R) Wrist Rave watches, Spy Kids Action Figures and much more.

"Juni (Daryl Sabara) and Carmen (Alexa Vega) have the attitude to carry-off the daring rescues, almost super-hero feats," Lori Sale, senior vice president of Worldwide Promotions for Dimension Films, said. "These kids show that a can-do attitude can save the day. We are excited about working with Colorific because it fits so well with what the movie is an about -- fun, empowering kids and imagination."

The instant-win scratch off game, along with limited edition Spy Kids temporary tattoos, can be found in nearly 2 million Colorific specially-marked packages at participating stores throughout the United States. The program runs now through the end of the year, or while supplies last. A purchase is not required.

"Juni and Carmen have all the characteristics of the type of kids who use Colorific products -- fun seekers, risk takers and, above all, everything they do is with attitude," Paul Donahue, president of Sanford, makers of the innovative Colorific product line said. "Like Juni and Carmen in the movie, we are out to change the world -- at least how kids look at the world of coloring."

Donahue said the Colorific brand is bucking the traditional approach to children's coloring -- its new products are truly innovations. From multi-colored, swirl crayons to fruit-scented colored pencils to gel markers, Colorific allows kids to express their individuality.

"We wanted to give kids something that was not what their parents used when they were kids," said Paul Donahue, president of Sanford. "We are pleased to be partnering with Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams and Dimension Films for this back-to-school program."
