July 2, 2002 - Gettysburg, Pa. - The Boyds Collection Ltd.® was presented with two achievement awards from the National Association of Limited Edition Dealers (NALED) during the 23rd annual awards banquet held Friday, June 28th at the Rosemont Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Boyds received industry recognition (still tryin' to figure out which industry) for Best Doll of 2001 for, "Carlie Mae With Ben... Bunny Watching" and Plush Collectible of the Year for "Bailey" from Fall 2001 season. The awards were presented to Boyds for outstanding artistic quality, public appeal and price produced and distributed in 2001. This marks the 3rd year that Boyds bought, err... won, the NALED achievement award for Doll of the Year.

Boyds also placed as runners up (in other words, didn't win) for Collector's Club of the Year, The Loyal Order of Friends of Boyds (F.o.B.); Plush Collectible of the Year with "Cora B. Applesmith" and "Gloria Bearsevelt" (needless to say, we swept that category!); and Architectural Structure of the Year with "The Boydstown Cathedral."

"We think it's a misprint," said Liz Smith, Boyds' VP of Stuff. "Just kidding, we are very excited to have won the awards and thank all of the NALED members for votin' for us."

NALED presents its achievement awards annually in recognition of "outstanding contributions for the world of collectibles," and to other companies like Boyds. Winners are determined by NALED's 600 members, comprised of leading gift and collectibles retailers nationwide.
