July 11, 2002 - Gettysburg, Pa., Make yer plans now cuz The World's Most Humongous Teddy Bear Store is coming to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in September 2002, and yer invited! In fact, we're having a grand opening celebration the weekend of September 28th and 29th... and that's something you definitely don't wanna miss!
There will be thousands of Boyds Bears, Hares, and other critters living at Boyds Bear Country (that's what the Folks at Boyds are calling the big ol' barn). Oh, and don't worry, the barn's plenty big so there shouldn't be too many scuffles amongst the critters. We're talking something like 100,000 square feet big! There will be so many things to do too (aside from visiting with the critters that is). Each room will be specially designed with sum wonderful displays of bears and those other bear necessities.
But wait, that's not all!! Boyds Bear Country will also feature a FREE museum. There you'll get a history of The Boyds Collection, Ltd.® its products, and the life story of the founder of the company, Gary Lowenthal... the Head Bean Hisself. Now, that should be funny!!
And, guess what, you don't even have to leave the building for lunch! In fact, Boyds Bear Country features a restaurant offering everything from a full-course meal to light lunch items, as well as delicious desserts baked right in its own bakery.
'Boyds Bear Country' is located on Route 15 Business at the intersection of Emmitsburg and Cunningham Roads (75 Cunningham Road, if you want to get technical!) in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. And, it's open every day from 10am-6pm (barring holiday time issues!). The store is located near all the Gettysburg attractions, so if you wanted to make a weekend trip of it, it's perfect.
