MILFORD, CONN., August 2002 Subway® Restaurants and Cartoon Network bring the innovative and popular adventures of the "TIME SQUAD™" to life with five exciting new toys for Kids' Pak® meals. The in-store promotion runs in all participating restaurants Sept. 30 through Nov. 17, 2002, in the United States and Canada.
"We are delighted to be working again with Cartoon Network, linking this very fun TIME SQUAD series with our Kids' Pak® toys," says Tricia Kingston, manager of strategic planning for the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT). "We've developed some remarkable toys that are sure to be a hit with kids and parents."
"TIME SQUAD" features three unlikely heroes, Otto Osworth, a young and brainy orphan; a cranky robot Larry 3000; and the overzealous time cop Buck Tuddrussel. The group has its work cut out for them as they travel back in time to make sure history happens the way it's supposed to. For instance, what if Einstein had pursued his interest in used cars instead of physics!
The Kids' Pak® meal consists of a deli-style sandwich, small drink and a cookie. Additionally, one of the following toys will be available in each meal:
- Scout Pod Tuddrussel Kids can pull back Officer Buck in his Scout Pod vehicle and make him zoom away. Then watch the Scout Pod pop open as he crashes into a hard surface!
- Vortrex Larry Kids can propel Larry and his spaceship to drop and spin rapidly in circles with the press of a button.
- Otto's Relativity Module Attach Otto and his Relativity Module onto the launcher and send Otto darting out into space with the push of the button.
- TS Quantum Probe Pull the string to release the TS Quantum Probe helicopter top and watch the propeller twirl up into the air.
- Otto Rattle This adorable Otto Osworth rattle toy is specially designed for children 18 months and older.
The promotion will be supported with nationally produced point-of-purchase materials. Ryan Partnership, Westport, Conn., is the agency in charge of POP material, with b.Little, New York, NY, doing production.
