ORLANDO, Fla., Aug. 29 -- Raven Moon Entertainment, Inc. and PANGEA Corporation announced today that they have begun development on a new toy line inspired recently by the recorded single, "Do The Cuddle Bug" written and produced by Joey and Bernadette DiFrancesco, Executive Producers of Gina D's Kids Club.
The initial "Cuddle Bug" toy and CD single will be released in the 1st quarter of 2003. The "Cuddle Bug" single has received accolades from industry insiders, which prompted the development of the "Cuddle Bug" plush toy by Bernadette DiFrancesco and the creative team at PANGEA. The "Cuddle Bug" song will be included in the soon to be released "Gina D's Kids Club" video titled "Good News," which will be on sale in time for the Christmas 2002 season.
PANGEA Corporation will assist Raven Moon Entertainment with the development of the "Loveable, Huggable, Cuddle Bug," along with a range of other product concepts, while also establishing licensing and cross-promotional opportunities for the "Gina D's Kids Club" brand and other new properties.
PANGEA's creative services are widely known in the toy and kids entertainment industries. Working with master toy licensee, Playmates Toys, PANGEA served on the original creative development team for the billion dollar blockbuster property, "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." In addition, the PANGEA portfolio includes product development for Star Treks, The Simpsons, Blues Clues, Barbie, Disney's Belle and Cinderella interactive dolls. PANGEA has worked with Dic Entertainment on the development of new kids properties and maintains active and on going relationships with licensing and acquisition contacts at MGM, Sony, Paramount, Dreamworks and Universal Studios, among others.
"The simple 'spread a little love' message of the "Do The Cuddle Bug" song is reflected in the first product offering," said John Schulte, one of three principals of PANGEA. "We're combining the feel-good content of the song with a toy that feels good -- the two complement one another and make the product offering distinctive in the marketplace."
Raven Moon recently announced plans for the release of nine products for distribution by Christmas. These titles include three "Gina D's Kids Club" releases, "Join the Club", "Good News", and "Smile-Ability"; the three episode DVD, Gina D's Kids Club Music CD Vol. 1 and 2, the "Young America" CD single, and two "Sing With Gina" videos.
