Gamers Republic Names Best Game Related Action Figure

gamersrepubliclogo.jpg - 6533 Bytes

Gamers Republic Magazine has named Street Fighter's Alex as the best video game related action figure of the year. In the current issue of GR, you can get the whole year in review for the gaming world. And what a year it's been with the introduction of the Dreamcast and the explosion of the video game as a licensed property (stealing the limelight from such mainstays as television and movie properties).

alexplayer1.jpg - 7112 BytesWith regard to the Alex figure, manufactured by ReSaurus for its Street Fighter line introduced in late 1999, GR had the following to say:

"Player-one and -two Alex from ReSaurus' Street Fighter line is a big, thick, chunk of action figure, wonderfully sculpted, nicely articulated, and well painted. He even has flexible overalls and hair pieces and comeswith a cool stand and a sticker. You can pretty much consider the otherfive as runners up, especially Blanka."

According to ReSaurus, sales of the first series of Street Fighter are going very well and the second series was recently announced to include Akuma, Chun-li, Sagat, Charlie, Necro, and Remy. Many of these characters are unfamiliar to Street Fighter home console devotees. However, with the recent announcement that Street Fighter III is coming to the Sega Dreamcast, many new fans will be introduced to these lesser known Street Fighter characters (such as Alex, Remy and Necro). Look for the Dreamcast release of Street Fighter III to be closely related to ReSaurus' release of the second series of Street Fighter action figures.

ReSaurus' Street Fighter action figures have been getting a lot of varied press coverage of late with write-ups in such diverse publications as Bikini magazine and Yahoo Internet Life.
