(Milford, Conn.) November 2002 Subway Restaurants and Bandai America Inc. are teaming up to introduce a line of five exciting new toys available in Kids' Pak meals. The in-store promotion runs in all participating restaurants Nov. 18 through Dec. 29, 2002, in the United States and Canada.
"Cyclonians E.G.G. 'Bots" are a new line of toys from Bandai, the world's third largest toy company. The Cyclonians are a race of quirky battling robot warriors that evolved on a planet designated as an intergalactic junkyard. Each character has a unique look and personality.
"We are thrilled to work with Bandai to bring the new Cyclonians toys to our Kids' Pak program," says Tricia Kingston, manager of strategic planning for the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT). "We've developed some wonderfully exciting toys that will surely to be a hit with kids and parents."
The Kids' Pak meal consists of a deli-style sandwich, small drink and a cookie. Additionally, one of the following toys will be available in each meal:
- Rotating Rot Rot sits in a special stand held in place by magnets. Spin him with your fingers, and it will look like he's floating.
- Bruisin' Bolt Bolt is a tough 'Bot with extra speed, thanks to his mini-launcher. Wind him up, press the button and he'll spin like a top.
- Rollerball Tank When you spin the rollerball you'll see Tank's favorite battle poses. The faster you spin the ball, the faster Tank moves.
- Leapin' Cranker Cranker thinks he's the fastest of all the Cyclonian 'Bots. He winds up and spins down his chute, launching out into Cyclonia.
- Tumblin' Torque Torque can roll and tumble! This toy is specially designed for children 18 months and older.
The promotion will be supported with nationally produced point-of-purchase materials. Ryan Partnership, Westport, Conn., is the agency in charge of POP material, with b.Little, New York, NY, managing production.
