McAfee Star Trek Sweepstakes

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev., Nov. 12 -- Quantum Loyalty Systems, a leading provider of customer loyalty programs and reward currencies, today announced a deal with McAfee Security Consumer division, a business division of Network Associates. Through its vast network of partnerships with major Hollywood studios, Quantum joined forces with McAfee and its product placement marketing agency, I.S.M. Entertainment, Inc., to develop a sweepstakes and rebate promotion tied to Star Trek Nemesis, the next in the popular series of Star Trek films, slated for release on December 13, 2002.

Through Quantum's movie rewards program, Hollywood Movie Magic, McAfee launched the "McAfee Star Trek Nemesis Sweepstakes" on October 27, 2002. Consumers can fill out and mail in an entry form located at participating retailers throughout the country and on McAfee's web site at http://www.mcafee-at-home.com/promo/startrek.asp for the chance to win the grand prize trip for two to Las Vegas to see "Star Trek: The Experience" at the Las Vegas Hilton. Other prizes include a Sharp notebook computer and gift checks and certificates. Participating McAfee retailers include Wal-Mart, Staples, Best Buy, CompUSA, Office Depot, and Office Max.

Quantum also worked with McAfee to develop a Star-Trek related rebate program. Starting on October 27th, consumers who purchase McAfee(R) VirusScan(R) Professional and McAfee (R)Internet Security(TM) have the opportunity to mail in proofs of purchase and choose to receive a pair of McAfee Hollywood Movie Magic ticket vouchers to see Star Trek Nemesis at participating theaters nationwide or a $20.00 mail-in rebate. Movie tickets are available to U.S. residents only.

McAfee's product placement marketing agency approached Quantum in June with an interest in developing a campaign linked to a blockbuster film. "Companies have been pairing their products with Hollywood films to attract customers for years," said Stephen Drees, president and chief executive officer, Quantum Loyalty Systems. "What we do is give our customers the ability to leverage our giant network of major Hollywood studios, giving them the freedom to link their products with the film that will appeal to their target audiences."

"The Star Trek program we developed with Quantum Loyalty Systems is a great way for us to reach a large share of our customer base," said Lisa Citron, manager of worldwide retail marketing, McAfee Security Consumer division. "Quantum manages the entire process from the design of the movie vouchers to the fulfillment of the rewards making it easy for us to attract and reward customers with something that appeals to virtually every demographic -- free tickets to the movies."

The "McAfee Star Trek Nemesis Sweepstakes" launched on October 27, 2002. The postmark deadline for entry is January 15, 2003. Winners of the sweepstakes will be announced in February 2003. As part of the McAfee Star Trek rebate and beginning on October 27, 2002, customers will have the chance to mail in proofs of purchase to receive a free pair of Hollywood Movie Magic movie vouchers to see Star Trek Nemesis in participating theaters nationwide or a $20.00 mail-in rebate. Movie tickets are available to U.S. residents only.

Participating retailers will support the program with point of purchase materials advertising the "McAfee Star Trek: Nemesis Sweepstakes." McAfee will also promote the program through a targeted advertising campaign, placing ads in major business and technology trade publications.
