LAS VEGAS, Nov. 6, 2002 - In support of its mission to create a new generation of flying craft, AirScooter Corporation today announced AirScoot, an electric RC (radio-controlled) coaxial hobby helicopter that provides the casual hobbyist a new level of simplicity in assembly and flight, even indoors. AirScoot's coaxial rotor design makes it easy to master.
Made in the U.S., AirScoot comes at a breakthrough introductory price of $846. The tough and durable AirScoot includes a 10-cell battery pack, metal-geared servos, a piezo gyro, high-end speed controller and a 340-watt Cobalt motor. A complete AirScoot ready-to-fly package also includes a Hitec transmitter and receiver and the Hitec 10-cell peak charger for $995. AirScoot is currently available and can be purchased direct at www.airscooter.com.
Virtually Assembled
The AirScoot comes almost completely assembled, ideal for those who want to enjoy hobby flying, but lack the time to build a model from hundreds of small parts. AirScoot assembly is quick and easy, normally requiring less than one hour. Other models on the market typically require 20 to 30 hours or more to put together, and many components must be purchased separately or upgraded at added cost.
"I was very impressed by the quality of the components employed in AirScoot. AirScoot is durable and easy to fly out of the box," said Pat Gray, member of the Hi-Sky Radio Control Club, Midland, Texas.
"We believe AirScoot offers the excitement of hobby flying to a large audience put off by the complexity of the hobby world. With the holidays fast approaching, AirScoot makes an ideal gift item," said Dwaine Barnes, AirScooter Corporation president.
AirScoot's compact size and clean, "whisper quiet" electric power make it extremely easy to transport and to fly anywhere. The two-bladed, dual main rotor diameter is 28 inches. AirScoot's total height is 14.88 inches, and the weight is 66 ounces.
In addition to being able to order AirScoot at the airscoot.com Website, customers can access assembly instructions, technical support, flight tips, product specifications and order replacement parts.
