Talking Simpsons Watches at Burger King
|
MIAMI, Nov. 22 -- There's no "time" like the present to stop by a BURGER KING(R) restaurant because THE SIMPSONS are appearing (and talking!) on the new Official Talking Watches, available for $2.39 with the purchase of any Value Meal or Kids Meal. From November 25 through December 29, 2002, participating BURGER KING(R) restaurants will offer four different collectible THE SIMPSONS Talking Watches, while supplies last.
"THE SIMPSONS Talking Watches mark the third component of our fourth- quarter promotion with America's favorite animated family and Fox Licensing & Merchandising," said Rick Dow, senior vice president, marketing programs and sales, Burger King Corporation. "These watches are sure to become collectibles for kids and adults who enjoy the great flame-broiled taste of BURGER KING(R) and 'THE SIMPSONS' irreverent humor."
Each Talking Watch uses digital recordings that, with the push of a button, deliver the familiar voices from the hit TV series. Each watch also has special design features such as decorated bands, translucent materials and oversized watch faces. There are four exclusive watches customers can choose from: the Family Drive watch featuring THE SIMPSONS kids whining "Are we there yet?" while Homer yelps "No!;" the Bart watch featuring Springfield's most famous fourth-grader exclaiming "Cool your jets, man!;" the Homer watch featuring the food fanatic crooning "Mmm ... burgers!" and the Krusty watch featuring the clown laughing "Hey kids, it's story time!" followed by his notorious cynical laugh.
"THE SIMPSONS Official Talking Watches make wonderful stocking stuffers and grab bag gifts because they offer great value for little money and are packaged in special gift boxes to reflect each watch theme," said Peter Byrne, Executive Vice President, Fox Licensing & Merchandising. "Plus, just as THE SIMPSONS appeal to all ages, the watches adjust to fit children and adults."

Just for fans of THE SIMPSONS, BURGER KING(R) is bringing back SHAKE 'EM UP(TM) Fries with Cheezy Flavor Boost(TM) for a limited time. Little "Barts" and "Lisas" all over the country can play with their fries for just 25c more. Delicious, cheesy Shake 'em Up(TM) Fries are easy and fun to make in three easy steps: pour the fries into the Shake 'em Up Bag(TM), sprinkle on the Cheezy Flavor Boost(TM) from the seasoning packet attached to the bag, and then close and shake the bag until the fries are coated with cheese.
