SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4 -- University Games, producers of the best-selling games 20 Questions, The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Game and Battle of the Sexes, recently introduced a kids' science game: Totally Gross -- The Game of Science!
Totally Gross is turning stomachs in both homes and classrooms by asking children to learn more about vomit, spit and poop. A dose of gross helps all aspects of science, including chemistry, biology and anatomy, make sense!
"Science is difficult for many schools to teach and even more difficult for kids to get excited about," explained Bob Moog, president of University Games. "This game was inspired by my wife Ursula, who was upset that our children spent more time in the bathroom than in the classroom," continued Moog. The game capitalizes on a child's obsession with things that are gross and disgusting, using this tendency to teach principles of chemistry, biology, botany and physics.
As players travel around the game board answering queasy questions, kids can find out whether snot keeps their lungs clear or not, that bullfrogs can be cannibals and other bizarre facts. Full of action and information, it's an educational game kids will actually enjoy. Includes a game board, 110 Question cards, 50 Gross-Out cards, 30 Lab cards, a die and a jar of slime used for keeping score.
Moog hopes that Totally Gross will redefine how kids learn by tying today's culture more closely to learning. The line will be expanded in 2003 with Totally Awesome, the game of incredible accomplishments. Future extreme games will include Totally Math and Totally Stupid. (Don't call me that.)
Totally Gross is available now at Toys' R Us, Target and AreYouGame.com. The game is recommended for kids ages 8 and up and retails for around $25.
