FREEHOLD, N.J. -- Dec. 12, 2002 -- stereoscape.com Inc., announced today its plans to close its home theater division, and concentrate its efforts on its Marx Toys, Inc. subsidiary.
With this change in corporate strategy came the resignation of the Company's Chairman and CEO, Mario Bassani. Bassani notes that he will be taking on extensive projects within the food industry.
Steven Wise, will assume Bassani's responsibilities in stepping up to become stereoscape's acting Chairman and CEO. Wise was formerly the Company's President.
Under Wise's direction the Company will endeavor to devote all its resources toward the success of Marx.
"Stereoscape will now concentrate on building the Marx collectible toys division, which sells Limited Edition Collectible toys manufactured using the original Marx molds once used by the world renowned Louis Marx and Company, which had been known for many years as the worlds largest toy company," stated Steven Wise, the Company's acting Chairman and CEO. "Additionally, we will seek to capitalize on the Marx name by licensing of the once famous Marx trains as well as ride-a-long toys and miscellaneous classic games," he added.
