Mage Knight Amulet Contest

January 23, 2003 (SEATTLE) - WizKids today announced its plans to conduct the "Four Shards of the Amulet" contest in conjunction with its upcoming Mage Knight(tm): Uprising expansion. The goal of the contest is to be the first player or team of players to bring together four of the incredibly rare shards to form the complete Amulet. The pieces will be randomly inserted into Mage Knight: Uprising booster packs and distributed worldwide. The first team to submit a complete Amulet to the WizKids office in Bellevue, Wash., will win the grand prize.

Up to four members of the winning team will receive an all-expenses-paid, two-day trip to Seattle to meet WizKids founder and CEO, Jordan Weisman. While there, each team member will work with WizKids Vice President of Game Design and Product Development, Jim Long, and Weisman to create an all-new figure that will appear in a future Mage Knight expansion. "Every Mage Knight player I meet has an idea for a figure," said Long. "These players will actually get to make their ideas a reality for all Mage Knight players to see." For complete rules on the Four Shards of the Amulet contest, go to www.mageknight.com.

"Each person who finds a shard can work on his or her own or with other players to locate the three other pieces of the Amulet," said Martin Stever, WizKids executive vice president. "We won't help players who find a shard of the Amulet to find the other three shards. Every person who finds a shard and sends it to us, however, will win a complete factory set of Mage Knight: Uprising figures. We never sell our factory sets, so normally a player can't ever get one of them."

The Mage Knight: Uprising expansion introduces eight new Elite dual-faction figures and twelve new Hero figures. All 96 Mage Knight: Uprising figures are compatible with Mage Knight and Mage Knight Dungeons. Each booster pack contains four randomly inserted, fully assembled, prepainted miniatures. Mage Knight: Uprising is expected to be released on April 30, 2003.
