Marvel Milestones: Thanos Statue
|
January 31, 2003 - A Diamond Select Release - Thanos, the mad god from Titan, loved Death so much, he did the only thing he could think of to get her/its attention: he instantaneously killed half the universe with the snap of his fingers. Sculpted by Art Asylum's Eli Livingston, this stunning 12-inch tall statue depicts Thanos armed with the dreaded Infinity Gauntlet (a glove encrusted with the gems of power), standing defiantly in his moment of triumph. Thanos comes mounted on a cosmic stone base with a startling effect built in: Thanos appears to be floating in space with an expanse of stars stretching out beneath him.
Also included are two hands for different poses: closed fist for classic Marvel villain posing, or snapping fingers. With Thanos back in the spotlight in Marvel's The End, what better time to recall the classic Jim Starlin series that started it all and answered the question, "What happens when pure evil gets absolute power?"
Limited to 2,500 pieces worldwide, each accompanied by a full-color, hand-numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Suggested retail price is $178 USD, in stores in May 2003.
