Marvel Mini-Mates (Diamond Select Toys)February 2003 - Well, it seems to be that time of year again, the time when the entire world looks once again to New York City. The Big Apple is the unofficial capital of the world, and the event is the American International Toy Fair. This year will be the hundredth year of the show, and that pre-dates both RTM and just about any toy media by a few years.
Right now the world is waiting on the brink of possible war between the United States and Iraq, and there is international discomfort surrounding Korea. With turbulent and uncertain times, there isn't anything better than a distraction that has more cheer. Toy Fair is that and more.
RTM is going to be bringing you images and information from the show over the coming week. We'll be doing the majority of our updating at night, so the best time to check the site will be in the mornings. We will be updating all weekend as well, so if you have a chance you can look over the site. We'll be running news items to let you know what we've updated, and you'll be able to see the images in the same, efficient (and often copied) style. We'll also let you know via the Buzz, in case you miss the news.
After the show is over, we'll be taking requests for things people want to see larger images of, and then we'll add those to the site. Please wait until after Toy Fair and we'll ask what images you want to see bigger, and then we'll get them for you.
For now, why not check out our coverage. It may just be Friday morning, but we've already started and you can get a look at Wiz Kids, Plan B Toys, Majestic, Toynami and Art Asylum. What are you waiting for, go!!!
