AFSOC Pararescue Action Figure
|
March 2003 - Action figure titan bbi is getting, shall we say "obsessively detailed" about its action figures. New from the company is the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) Pararescue and bbi does not disappoint with this figure. Collectors, take special note of the gloves and the rope - you'll see what we mean. Even the holster has real white stitching. This figure shows that for bbi, nothing is too small to handle with care.

Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC)
The AFSOC is the Air Force component of U.S. Special Operations Command. This branch of special ops performs reconnaissance, psychological operations and unconventional warfare in hot spots around the world. Using high tech surveillance equipment, modified aircraft and weapons straight out of a futuristic film, AFSOC has participated in theatres around the world including Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the Middle East, Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada as well as relief efforts like Operation Provide Promise in the Balkans.
Established in 1990, the AFSOC has approximately 12,500 Active Duty, Reserve, Air National Guard and civilian professionals, with over 20 percent stationed overseas. More than 160 fixed and rotary wing aircraft are assigned to the Command.
A special note about the Pararescue team - AFSOC training is intensive and has a high dropout rate. Among the graduates are the Pararescuers (also known as the PJ's) who are sometimes called upon to rescue other special ops members.
