March 18, 2003 -- Warner Home Video (WHV) announced today the launch of "Unlock the Chamber of Secrets," an online sweepstakes and movie scene trading card competition available to fans in the United States and other select countries beginning March 28. The sweepstakes and competition will unite Harry Potter fans in celebration of the April 11 DVD and VHS release of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Fans can log on at www.harrypotter.com/secrets or at select Harry Potter websites (featured in Quebecois, Korean and English) to enter the sweepstakes. Participants will have a chance to win one of many prizes, including a grand prize (to be determined by the online prizing poll), a private screening of the next movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (first prize) or one of thousands of Harry Potter merchandise prizes.
Prior to the "Unlock the Chamber of Secrets" sweepstakes, Harry Potter fans have a chance to vote for the grand prize through an online poll, running from March 14 through March 21. By logging onto www.harrypotter.com/secrets or by visiting select Harry Potter websites, fans can cast their votes for one of four options. The grand prize will be chosen from the following:
- A walk-on role in the upcoming film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
- A meet-and-greet with a Harry Potter cast member.
- A private, pre-release screening of the next movie, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for the winner and his/her friends.
- An ultimate home entertainment system, including a plasma screen television, home theater system, DVD player and more!

Enter the Sweepstakes and Online Movie Scene Trading Card Competition
From March 28 through April 21, Harry Potter fans can enter the sweepstakes and play the online movie scene trading card competition by registering on www.harrypotter.com/secrets where they will automatically receive an electronic game board and one electronic Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets movie scene trading card.
Movie Scene Trading Card Competition
The movie scene trading card competition challenges fans to earn, collect and trade images from the film to complete electronic game boards in order to win exclusive Harry Potter virtual rewards and access special Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets favorite scenes. Players can attempt to collect all three sets of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets movie scene trading cards in the following ways:
- Answering questions about the film on the competition website.
- Recruiting friends to register for the competition.
- Logging onto the competition web site daily and searching for images of Dobby on partner web sites (including EA Games, Cartoon Network and Kids WB!).
- Previewing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD content (on sites where users can pre-order the DVD).
- Inserting the DVD into their DVD-ROM drives in their computers.
Players will have the opportunity to get ranked in the competition if they collect enough movie scene cards. Each week, players will receive a new electronic game board and have a chance to collect a new series of images from the film.
Once a full set of cards is collected, players will gain access to "unlock" a favorite movie scene, where they will receive exclusive virtual rewards, including printable certificates of participation. Players who have purchased the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD also have an exclusive opportunity to collect special cards. Two electronic game boards will be accessible to only those players who own the DVD.

Players will receive one additional sweepstakes entry each day they log onto the competition web site, increasing their chances to win the selected grand prize (determined by the online poll). One first prize winner will be selected to receive a private screening of the next Harry Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, in his/her hometown. The Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets DVD
On April 11, the world can unlock the magic as Warner Home Video (WHV) releases Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on an extra features-loaded double disc DVD and on VHS. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the second installment in the Harry Potter series, follows Harry, Ron and Hermione through their second year at Hogwarts School.
