About Dick Marcinko

Dick Marcinko is recognized as one of the nation's most accomplished special operations experts, with over 30 years of experience in intelligence, diplomatic assignments, counter-terrorism, and special operations. After joining the Navy in 1958, he underwent UDT and SEAL training and was assigned to SEAL Team Two in 1966. He was appointed commander of this unit in 1974.

Through the years that followed, Marcinko served in a variety of combat roles, and eventually formed the now legendary SEAL Team Six and reputed Red Cell counter-terrorist forces.
