April 2003 - Hiromi Nozawa is in the sixth grade and she hardly gets to see her parents at home because both her father (Shintaro) and mother (Suzuko) are busy with work. But she still manages to stay cheerful in the company of her dog, a schnauzer that speaks the human language and always cares for Hiromi. He is an excellent companion and his name is Junkers.
One night, Hiromi overhears her parents discussing a divorce and is disturbed by this unexpected news. While trying to comprehend her parents' feelings, she cannot admit that she is feeling lonely, and in the midst of all this, Junkers reveals to Hiromi that he can make three miracles happen. What may these miracles be? Can Hiromi restore happiness in her life?
