bbi Japanese Army Officer
|
May 2003 - Following the release of bbi's Elite Force WWII Australian Imperial Force and British Sergeant, we present to you their adversary, Elite Force WWII Japanese Army Officer "Saburo Nakagawa." Despite Japanese defeat in the Pacific, it was not for a lack of weaponry and gear. bbi has replicated an array of weapons and accessories with its hallmark precision accuracy. You know you're not playing with kid's stuff when you look at the highly polished sword and the box issues a warning that it contains a sharp edge. Other carefully crafted pieces include a leather map bag and binocular case that have a worn patina to give the leather-like appearance signs of wear in just the right places - another indication that bbi focuses on every detail of its historically accurate military figures.
The Japanese Concede Defeat in Burma
In March of 1944, the 100,000 troops of the Japanese 15th Army launched a determined offensive against the British positions inside the India/Burma border. This offensive continued on two fronts. The British retaliated with armored maneuvers and air power that ultimately pushed the Japanese back to the capital city of Rangoon. The surviving Japanese forces retreated into Thailand and Rangoon fell into British hands on May 3, 1945.
