LEGO: Life-sized NBA Players

NEW YORK -- June 13, 2003 -- The NBA will be offering fans the chance to own their own life-sized figure of any NBA player in the league made out of LEGO(R) building blocks.
Life-sized LEGO figures of Jason Kidd, Kobe Bryant and Allan Houston, which have been on display at The NBA Store on Fifth Avenue in New York City since the start of the NBA Playoffs in April, are some of the players available for fans to purchase.
Fans can choose from any of the existing life-sized figures that LEGO has previously made including: - Jason Kidd, New Jersey Nets
- Shaquille O'Neal, Los Angeles Lakers
- Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
- Chris Webber, Sacramento Kings
- Vince Carter, Toronto Raptors
- Kevin Garnett, Minnesota Timberwolves
- Allan Houston, New York Knicks
- Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks
In addition, a fan can order any player from the NBA as a life-sized LEGO figure in any of the poses that exists for one of the other players. Fans can order the figures exclusively at The NBA Store and should allow up to 12 weeks for delivery.
The Jason Kidd LEGO figure will be on display at the Continental Airlines Arena for Game 5 of the NBA Finals tonight. Following are some facts about the figures: - There are more than 17,000 bricks in each of the LEGO life-sized figures

Since January 2003, the NBA and LEGO Company have teamed up to create 14 unique build-and-play interactive basketball game sets that are available in stores around the world. Fans can use generic LEGO figures or obtain up to 24 LEGO mini-figures in the likeness of NBA players that can pick up, pass and shoots mini-basketballs.
