WizKids Sculptor Gets Credit

JUNE 24, 2003 (SEATTLE) - Bob Naismith, a freelance sculptor whose work has been one of the keys to WizKids' success, is getting the credit he's due this year at Origins. Two of the sets he helped sculpt are nominated for Origins Awards in 2003. The Mage Knight(tm): Dungeons and Mage Knight: Sinister sets he helped bring to life are both on this year's list of WizKids' games honored with nominations for the prestigious awards.

The nods mark the second time Naismith's work has helped catapult the Collectable Miniatures Game (CMG) company to Origins honors, but the first time Naismith has received the proper credit. Last year, Naismith designed and sculpted the Great Fire Dragon and its brethren for the Mage Knight CMG, and the sculpt won "Best Science Fiction or Fantasy Miniature." Unfortunately, a miscommunication meant someone else was give credit.

"We are very excited to be working with Bob," said WizKids' Executive Vice President Martin Stever, "We didn't mean to overlook him last year, but this year we want to make sure he gets all the credit he deserves."

A 26-year veteran of sculpting whose background is in hobby modeling, Naismith has helped create toys for many of the worlds' leading game manufacturers. "I was particularly pleased to see that the Great Fire Dragon won last year," said Naismith, "I was however slightly disappointed by the credits. I'm ecstatic that my work has been nominated again, and doubly so that my work is appreciated by the gaming public."
Currently working in Nottingham, England, Naismith's latest pieces can be viewed at www.bnaismith.com.

Founded by 20-year game-industry veteran Jordan Weisman, WizKids is a Seattle-based game developer and publisher dedicated to creating tabletop games driven by imagination. Its Mage Knight, MechWarrior and HeroClix CMGs are among the most successful games on the market today, and have sold tens of millions of figures worldwide.
